My life is sometimes crazy. Real. Messy. Full. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this life and this little family for anything in the world.

As we approach my youngest daughter’s first birthday in a little over a week, I feel so incredibly lucky that I’ve been able to watch a beautiful love between sisters grow. Not having a sister myself, I couldn’t really grasp what it was going to be like for my 2 girls. But now? Now I get it.  I can see it cultivating. As they each continue to grow, so do their interactions and bond. I’m sure they are going to have their fair share of hair pulling and door slamming, but I’m also sure they are going to have late night giggle fests when they should be sleeping and secrets they will keep the grave. Even at 4 years old and 11 months, they already have their own little conversations going on that my husband and I aren’t privy to. They miss each other when one is away, and the smile that each of them breaks out into when she sees the other after being apart is something I try hard to tuck away into the depths of my heart to pull out whenever it’s needed.

My hope is that they are thankful to have all of these pictures to look back on when they are grown. That my sometimes obsessive documentation will all be worth it in the end when they can see they’ve been friends from the very beginning.

This is going to be my last month participating in the ‘Motherhood Is…’ blog circle. I’m feeling the need to explore different projects and challenge my skills in different ways.
