I have this little end table in my living room that was passed down from my husband’s parents. When I had ample spare time (before kids, obviously!), I had refinished it in an off-white and it was looking brand new and I loved that little end table. Then we had kids, and as much as I love my kids, the truth is that they wreck stuff. So now, that little end table sits beside my front window and when the morning sun streams in I can see the nicks and dents that have slowly appeared over the last 7 years. It has history.
On top that little table there’s a picture frame, and in the frame is a photo of my husband and me. It’s one of my all-time favourite photos – not taken before we were parents when we felt so carefree and young, but taken just last fall. After we’d co-signed on a mortgage, after we’d learned to live on 6 hours of sleep a night, after we renovated a whole house together, after we solidified that parenting is better as a team, and after we spent hours up at night talking about things that felt way too adult. After we had written HISTORY.
Every time I look at that photo I am reminded that we are still the backbone of this family. That even though my kids and my business seem to occupy the majority of my life, he’s still the one I want to tell everything to and he’s still the one I choose to wake up beside every morning. This year marks our 10 year wedding anniversary, and I can honestly count on one hand how many images we have of just the 2 of us in those last 10 years. We have tons of photos with the kids and many, many all together as a family, but just us? They are few and far between.
I know how much it means to me to look at the photo and to be reminded each and every day that we chose each other, and I want that for you too.
Marriage is a wild and wonderful journey – toss some kiddos in there and it’s all too easy to forget what brought you together in the first place. What you love about him. What he adores about you. The way you can laugh at each other. Let’s create some tangible memories for you. Ones that you can hang on the wall and see every day.
It’s time for you to sneak away for an evening and reconnect. You deserve it.
This photo session is for you and your spouse to rekindle and rediscover, and I’m going to capture it all in a beautiful way for you. Book a babysitter and come hang out with me outside for an hour as the sun dips down to the horizon.
This session is about your relationship. Love to be silly together? Let’s go run wild through muddy fields. Does the city fuel your connection? Let’s wander Whyte Ave and grab ice cream. Love the quiet moments when you can feel each other breathe? Let’s find a little corner of the world where it’s just the 2 of you and me and create a bit of magic.
These are LIMITED TIME sessions in April and May only with select evening dates available.
CLICK HERE TO BE TAKEN TO THE SCHEDULING PAGE. Choose your date, complete the agreement, questionnaire, and payment and BOOM, you’re done! Then I’ll be in touch and we’ll chat about locations, what to wear and your hopes for the session.
Questions? As always, I’m happy to answer them. Shoot me an email and I’ll get right back to you.
